Luau and Moving
July just flew by…I’m not really sure why because it seems like I didn’t really do much. Now that August is here, I’ve got two big things coming up: the annual Luau and a big move at the end of the month.
I’m REALLY hoping for no rain this year. It’s our third almost-annual Luau and each year so far, we’ve had rain. Tomorrow is the official planning meeting–a week before the big show (I can’t plan more than 5 months in advance for an event like my Dad…maybe someday).
Moving will be fun, and contrary to popular belief LIVING WITH YOUR MOM is very cool! Happy is also looking forward to the move. For those of you who don’t know, Happy is the family dog (we didn’t name her–otherwise her name would be “manic depressive” instead).

The New Knowjoe is Online!
It’s all here and it’s live now! While not EVERYTHING is here from the old Knowjoe, the best stuff is. I hope that you enjoy it!

Spring
I like spring. A lot. May is my favorite month. No, it’s not because of Amy’s birthday but that is a nice thought.
We’re going to try the new pasta from Pizza Hut tonight at work. I’ll let you know how that goes.
I’m going to go see Grandma this weekend and I’m very excited about it. However, I will have to forfeit some family fun time in South Bend at Notre Dame.
Unfortunately, Simba didn’t make it. I’m kinda creeped out because Dad buried him right up against the house. Although I guess it’s a good resting place (e.g. the dogs won’t pee on him). I’ve decided that Scooby is going to be our new cat. I’m just going to start referring to him as “good kitty”. He won’t notice the difference.

Everybody Around You That You Love is Dying!!! Ahhh!!!
It’s true…Kari, my Grandma’s oldest cairn terrier died last week. It turns out, she had diabetes that nobody knew about. I’m glad that Grandma let her go.
And Simba, the small fluffy lion that lives at my Dad’s house, isn’t doing well either. He caught some kind of kitty virus and is currently not eating. He may pull through but he might have some brain damage because of the virus (which is apparently often fatal).
At least he won’t be the only Special Ed animal over there.

Website Header Improved
Now I have two headers that alternate back and forth randomly. I think that this works much better.
Is your picture on here? If so, what do you think about it? If your picture isn’t on here, would you like to have it put up?

About the Website Header Design
It took me several weeks to decide on a design for the header of the website. I eventually settled on this design because it showcased the people in my life that I love. Unfortunately, because the header is only so big and I have to have certain types of pictures to use on it (entire face must be visible, well-lit, etc.) I couldn’t possibly feature EVERYONE that is important to me. My own brother isn’t even on there (which he has already complained about)!
So if you aren’t up there, don’t think that I don’t like you. I do. I actually intend to do one or two more headers and rotate them eventually so that I can show more people. But if I don’t have access to a good picture of you, I can’t put you up.
Oh, and if you’re going to complain about a picture that is ALREADY up there, too bad.

New Website, First Post
I know, I’ve neglected Knowjoe.net for awhile…it’s been a pretty busy few months! In that time, I’ve changed jobs twice (currently back at the hotel), received a promotion, began the process to start school again, and had another spectacular birthday. I’m 23 now, if you’re keeping count.
But finally after the new year I had a chance to take a fresh look at Knowjoe.net. This is the result of that fresh look. Some of the more tech-savvy people out there might notice that Knowjoe.net is now a WordPress blog. For those of you don’t know about WordPress and blogging, allow me to explain…
A blog (which originates from the term “Web Log”) is simply an online journal. Knowjoe.net Version 7 tinkered with this, however it was hard to keep current as I never had the time to fully incorporate a simple way to post entries. Fortunately, I found WordPress–a wonderful tool for creating and maintaining blogs. I originally used it to add a blog to THE MAGI GROUP’s website with much success.
So now, in Knowjoe.net Version 8, I have built the entire website to be almost entirely one big blog. You’ll also find most of the pictures, video, and of course, Aunt Nancy’s KrazyWords that you were able to access on the old website. In addition, you can comment on my entries and on media that I post.
Thanks for continuing to visit Knowjoe.net. I hope to share lots of stories, pictures, and more with you in the coming year!
